TorchLight seeks a Director of Institutional Sales and Engagement for an organization located in Washington, D.C. The Director of Institutional Sales and Engagement is responsible for sales and product strategy, as well as new client sales and retention across a variety of product lines. He or she will lead a 3-person team to meet business objectives. Qualified candidates must have senior-level experience in content sales and strategy, preferably with higher ed and/or non-profit industry organizations.

  • Establish and oversee go-to-market strategy and execution for institutional and corporate markets
  • Create proposals for product trials, renewals, and upgrades
  • Identify and lead strategies to increase product activation and usage
  • Drive new business development efforts
  • Work with marketing team to develop effective messaging, communications, and materials
  • Identify and prioritize sales prospects and category approach
  • Evaluate competitive set and establish product development and pricing strategy
  • Attend and exhibit at industry conferences and events
  • Manage Salesforce and related systems
  • Lead 3-person team and ensure sales goals are met

  • 7+ years of content sales and account management experience; higher ed and/or non-profit industry experience highly preferred
  • Proven success delivering on sales and product usage targets
  • Excellent written, verbal, and presentation style
  • Adept at Salesforce and NetSuite
  • Experience managing sales teams
  • B.A./B.S. required
